Greg Dulli is known for having long served as the frontman of the famous Afghan Whigs, The Twilight Singers, and The Gutter Twins (with Mark Lanegan). The Afghan Whigs broke up in the early 2000s and reunited in 2013. The album marking their return "Do The Beast" climbed straight to 32nd place on the Billboard Top 200 chart. Many bands have claimed the influence of the Afghan Whigs, such as: The National, The Gaslight Anthem, Interpol, The Hold Steady, My Chemical Romance, and Jimmy Eat World, to name just a few. "RANDOM DESIRE" is therefore Greg's first official solo album (the last two releases were just a live recording and a b-sides album).
