Description
The Grateful Dead had officially retired after their five-night run at Winterland in October 1974, so it was a surprise when they appeared in concert and on the radio at Kezar Stadium on March 23, 1975. The band played without any rehearsals and with new material that was partly improvised, joined by guest keyboardists Merl Saunders and Ned Lagin. It became one of the most extraordinary sets of the Grateful Dead's entire career, playing a jam without lyrics and melody that draws inspiration from their 1975 album Blues for Allah.
