After a first EP (Requiem pour un Twister / Top Shelf Records) that gained attention in France as well as across the Atlantic in 2016, the indie pop band Good Morning TV, led by Bérénice Deloire, is set to release its first album on the Géographie label (Marble Arch, Paper Tapes, Born Idiot). After two years of writing, the quartet isolated themselves in a peaceful stone house in the south of France to record this debut album. It is here that they will set up a makeshift studio resembling a laboratory. From a few incantations and a lot of hard work, Small Talk is born. A unique record with contemporary production (Barth Bouveret), it features adventurous songwriting that highlights immediate choruses. While the soundscapes may seem familiar, it is in the introspective and sensitive approach that this first album catches us off guard. With this record, Bérénice Deloire's band paints the sweet melancholy of a disillusioned everyday life and offers its reinterpretation of pop, somewhere between Broadcast, Deerhoof, and The Olivia Tremor Control.
