Good Looks writes warm and cathartic rock songs about the perseverance needed to get through tough times. In April 2022, the Austin (Texas) quartet released their debut album, Bummer Year, which was critically acclaimed. Immediately after the release, lead guitarist Jake Ames was hit by a car while crossing the street, fracturing his skull and tailbone. Fortunately, Jake has made a full recovery. This traumatic accident strengthened the bonds that helped build their new electric album Lived Here For A While. Although Ames had to relearn some of his parts, his energetic performances elevated the entire album. On this album, the band trades the americana sound that colored the lines of Bummer Year for sharp post-punk guitars and expansive indie rock.
