Gizmo Varillas unveils his first album El Dorado on November 25. This project is "fresh"! How else to define the work of this 26-year-old man born in Bilbao, a former student in Cardiff and now based in London? Gizmo is indeed a young man of his generation. This self-taught guitarist has fully produced and composed the 13 tracks of this project.
In El Dorado, he offers music that spans several continents. Gizmo borrows chords from South America, glances towards the pop and folk of North America, and sometimes sprinkles in Caribbean accents like on the hit Give A Little Love. Combined with his vocal style, his sense of the chorus (Hold On), and his always effective melodies, Gizmo creates a genre he defines as "Dark Tropical."
Gizmo Varillas, with his two EPs (The Inca's Suit and Give A Little Love), convinces professionals (BBC 6, Apple Music...) and, thanks to his numerous concerts (including opening acts for Madison Violet and Jack Savoretti), charms the audience.
