The latest 12'' EP from the Belfast quartet is titled The Next Life, in a nod to David Bowie's last album. On side A, there's a cover of Brian Eno's "Third Uncle" featuring new drummer Gib Cassidy. On the other side, there's a track by producer David Holmes and a second by Gabe Gurnsey of Factory Floor, which adds a dance touch to Girls Names' style. After selling out quickly upon its release last February, Girls Names' second album is being reissued in a limited edition with 6 bonus tracks. The Belfast quartet takes a new direction on The New Life, after a garage-pop debut album released in 2011. On this album, Girls Names adopts a more psychedelic style, somewhere between surf rock and noise pop.
