The first album by Ghost Woman, now available! The hypnotic universe of Ghost Woman is the work of compulsive melodist Evan John Uschenko, despite the ups and downs of the hectic life of a touring artist: rescuing and replacing instruments after a fire, a stolen van, and numerous moves. Uschenko has transformed the sound explorations that characterize him into a sensory patchwork intended for the stage. "When I record my songs, I tend to approach them without preconceived ideas. I sit down, tune the guitar, and have fun. It always happens like that for me. Without fun, what's the point?" Evan's adventures as a multi-instrumentalist have seen him share stages worldwide with bands like Jacco Gardner, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, and The Mild High Club. All have indirectly paved the way for Ghost Woman. The self-titled new album by Ghost Woman is full of self-produced Anatolian sounds played solo, and lo-fi hooks. In the school of authenticity that Uschenko seems to share with his rebellious peers of the new psyche rock Kurt Vile or The Black Angels, Ghost Woman draws heavily from bands like Jefferson Airplane, The Byrds, and The Firesign Theatre. It is therefore not surprising that the sometimes krautrock groove of the album is often counterbalanced by the exploration of heartbreak and false hopes.
