Yours In The Ranks Of Death

Description

Ghost Funk Orchestra returns to our orbit with Yours in The Ranks of Death, its most grounded and personal collection of songs to date. At once introspective and ethereal, Ghost Funk Orchestra’s fifth studio album sees its composer and guiding force, Seth Applebaum, strip back the sounds and conceptual foundations of his work, giving his signature grooves a cleaner frame to glide effortlessly on the turntable. Like the rays of a summer sun slowly dispersing the morning mist, what comes into sharper focus are the angles and crystalline shapes that have made Ghost Funk Orchestra the groovy backbone of modern psychedelic soul, jazz, and boogaloo at Karma Chief Records since the band joined the label in 2018. It would be very hard to find introspection this catchy, poetic, and funky.
