After the success of their album Astronautilus in 2015, the unconventional jazz-rock band Get The Blessing returns with the enchanting Bristopia. By blending jazz, spacey electronics, and post-rock atmospheres, Bristopia ventures into new territories. From the melodic intertwining of "If It Can It Will" to the dark atmospheres of "Bristopia," and the captivating melodies of "Not with Standing," the quartet guides the listener through a labyrinth of interwoven melodies and hazy, immersive soundscapes. Hailing from Bristol, the band pays tribute to their hometown by creating an abstract and poetic soundtrack for it. The group recorded in the picturesque Vale Studio in Worcestershire with their longtime friend Tim Allen. The album features some colorful touches from Adrian Utley's guitar and Margerethe Bjorklund's pedal steel. Formed in 1999 by bassist Jim Barr and drummer Clive Deamer (Portishead, Radiohead), along with Jake McMurchie (saxophone, electronics) and Pete Judge (trumpet, electronics), the quartet has forged a unique and unclassifiable sound.
