Organized at the initiative of his widow Olivia and his son Dhani, the concert was conceived by Eric Clapton and Jeff Lynne. Friends of the guitarist such as Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Ravi Shankar, Billy Preston, Tom Petty, and the Monty Python participated and performed his songs.
This concert, already released in 2003 on CD and DVD, has been certified 8 times platinum and won a Grammy Award.
