A direct result of The Beatles’ keen interest in experimental music and other avant-garde art forms, Apple Records launched its short-lived subsidiary Zapple in February 1969, conceived as a space for unbridled sonic exploration, or, as it was advertised at the time, for "even crazier sounds."
