Geoffrey O'Connor, former frontman of euphoric guitar-pop band Crayon Fields, returns with his first solo album in seven years – but is it really a solo album? For As Long As I Can Remember is a series of duets with some of Australia’s most iconic contemporary female vocalists, including Jonnine (HTRK), Sarah Mary Chadwick, Laura Jean, Sui Zhen. The album explores late-night stories of unsublimated desire, a synth-pop cocoon where obsessions slowly drift into the rearview mirror. Geoffrey's duet partners don't offer easy love or comfort; they challenge him, gently put him down, or look back at the story of a faded passion. Other guests include Nicole Thibault (from Thibault), Jess Ribeiro, June Jones, Steph Crase from Summer Flake, Sienna Thornton (Cyanide Thornton), and Caitlyn Lesiuk from Mystery Guest. Donny Benet and his sophisticated Sydney funk also appear on bass on two tracks. Since his last solo effort, the acclaimed Fan Fiction in 2014, Geoffrey released Crayon Fields' comeback album, No One Deserves You, in 2015, and an expanded reissue of the 2009 classic All the Pleasures of the World. He has also produced albums for Sarah Mary Chadwick, June Jones, Summer Flake, and others. Geoffrey has appeared on records by The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart and Donny Benet, has been remixed by Chet Faker, and was a member of Melbourne psychedelic pop band Montero. He is also a highly sought-after video director, making videos for RVG, Bag Raiders, Sarah Mary Chadwick, and many more.
