Tancade

Description

Carrying his cello, his signature instrument, so often embraced, through very different worlds - contemporary jazz, electro, film soundtrack, post-classical, neo-flamenco, pop, ambient, chanson from here or music from elsewhere... - this resolutely adventurous musician gives it a dazzling modernity and reveals its incredible expressive richness. Since he has been moving through the planet of sound, with complete openness of ear and mind, he has already distinguished himself alongside Rone, Jim O'Rourke, Barbara Carlotti, Bryce Dessner, Arandel. No boundary stops him, no convention holds him back. Founder of the collective VACARME and the label Les disques du festival permanent, Gaspar Claus is already omnipresent on the French scene. 'Tancade' is therefore his first solo album. Entirely (or almost entirely) instrumental, 'Tancade' contains eleven tracks in total. Most come from sessions recorded between 2017 and 2021. The result of a slow and meticulous, sometimes painful process of creation, the whole - of high intensity - nevertheless flows with remarkable fluidity.
