Carrying his cello, his beloved instrument, so often embraced, through very different worlds - contemporary jazz, electronic, film score, post-classical, neo-flamenco, pop, ambient, local chanson or music from elsewhere... - this resolutely adventurous musician gives it a striking modernity and reveals its incredible expressive richness. Since he has been moving across the planet of sounds, with total openness of ear and mind, he has already distinguished himself alongside Rone, Jim O'Rourke, Barbara Carlotti, Bryce Dessner, Arandel. No boundary stops him, no convention holds him back. Founder of the VACARME collective and the label Les disques du festival permanent, Gaspar Claus is already omnipresent on the French scene. 'Tancade' is therefore his first solo album. Entirely (or almost) instrumental, 'Tancade' contains eleven tracks in total. Most come from sessions recorded between 2017 and 2021. Resulting from a slow and meticulous, sometimes painful, elaboration, the whole - of high intensity - nevertheless flows with remarkable fluidity.
