Description

Gabi Delgado (DAF, DELKOM, DAF DOS) and Marc Hurtado (ÉTANT DONNÉS, SOL IXENT) founded the project Neue Weltumfassende Resistance in 2004. Between that date and 2018, they recorded numerous works together and performed twice: at the IDEAL festival in Nantes and at LUFF in Lausanne in 2006. The essence of NWR lies in the exchange of music and poetry between Delgado and Hurtado, conceived as a dialogue transmitted electronically between Germany, Spain, and France. Their collaboration unfolds like a kind of 360° cinematic journey — quick as lightning, imbued with grace, madness, fire, and the kaleidoscopic whirlwind that emerges from the meeting of two passionate artistic souls. Sometimes one composes the music while the other sings; sometimes the roles reverse — or occur simultaneously. There is neither fixed structure nor predetermined plan — only an unquenchable thirst for absolute creative freedom, a movement of cosmic and poetic resistance. They met again in Berlin in 2007, then in Córdoba in 2014 and 2018, to merge and refine their collaborative work, each meeting being a pivotal moment in the construction of a sound edifice whose stones had been shaped and polished over the years, like true diamonds. Gabi Delgado left us far too soon in 2020. But today, more than twenty years after the genesis of their project, the first album – Neue Weltumfassende Resistance – is finally being released. It constitutes the first testament to the precious alliance between Gabi Delgado and Marc Hurtado, and the beginning of their shared struggle for artistic and spiritual freedom.
