Blues is timeless. Good blues, regardless of its age, sounds as fresh and visceral today as it did at the time of its first recording. This is a statement that the high-voltage electric blues trio GA-20 knows well. The band, made up of guitarist Matt Stubbs, guitarist and singer Pat Faherty, and drummer Tim Carman, writes and plays songs that indeed sound like the old blues they love, in the style of Otis Rush, J.B. Lenoir, Howlin’ Wolf, Junior Wells, and their favorite, Hound Dog Taylor. The legendary Chicago bluesman with six fingers (due to polydactyly), Theodore Roosevelt 'Hound Dog' Taylor, claimed that upon his death, people would say he didn’t know how to play but that he sure knew how to make it sound damn good! His first album released in 1971, Hound Dog Taylor and the HouseRockers, is also the first from the now-famous label Alligator Records. In fact, Bruce Iglauer founded the label solely to record and release this album! In partnership with Alligator Records for its 50th anniversary, Colemine Records is proud to release on Karma Chief Records the new album by GA-20 titled Try It… You Might Like It!
