Powerful and unrelenting, the first album by Camksimoon, "Gyiin Naxnox" (Feeding the Supernatural), reveals the innovative talent of Gitga'at composer Wil Uks Batsga Galaaw (Jeremy Pahl), capable of fusing pre-colonial musical sounds with a striking fuzz rock. The worldview and culture of the Ts'msyen (Indigenous people of the Northwest Pacific Coast of North America) meet epic three-piece rock and roll, with echoes of early punk rock and doom metal bands from the 70s and 80s, in a powerful and authentic critique of colonialism. "Gyiin Naxnox" offers epic multi-part tracks, blending traditional melodies and rhythms drawn from field recordings made by Ts'msyen elders speaking Sm'algyax, sludge and doom in the vein of Black Sabbath, and virtuosic, raw punk and roll. Featuring backing vocals by Fiver, also an artist on the You've Changed Records label, and Sarin Blawatt, from the Vancouver punk band Alien Boys.
