Bloomin', the new album from the heavyweights of indie rock, Futurebirds, is a landmark that celebrates the band's 13-year career. The Athens, Georgia-based group enlisted Carl Broemel, guitarist and producer of My Morning Jacket, to create a harmonious and generous partnership that first bore fruit with the 2021 EP, Bloomin', followed by the 2022 EP, Bloomin' Too. Here, the album Bloomin' combines the tracks from both EPs into a complete and cohesive album. The album transitions from cosmic space rock to rough-edged alt-country dreamscapes, from odes to sandy beaches to catchy pop ballads – all showcasing the tonalities and musical avenues at the heart of the band's vast musical palette.
