Nils Frahm and F.S. Blumm announce the release of Handling, their fifth collaborative album, due on September 19, 2025 on LEITER, on vinyl and digitally. Composed of just three tracks totaling forty minutes, Handling continues the approach they began with 2X1=4 (2021), blending dub influences with an ever-renewed approach. Recorded in Frahm’s studio at the legendary Funkhaus in Berlin, the album unfolds a luminous and organic sonic world around the three pieces titled Leuchter - “chandelier” in German - which reflect a growing inner energy. Their instrumentation combines pianos, celestas, cristal Baschet, guitars, glockenspiels and multiple percussion instruments, in improvisations patiently reworked in intensive editing sessions. The duo, who have been collaborating since the 2000s, share a rare bond. Their union goes beyond individual identities: “It’s neither Frank nor Nils. We have become a new person,” they explain. This blend of Blumm’s organic chaos and Frahm’s structured intuition offers an experience that is as rich as it is evolving, always carrying a singular light.
