Joshua
Description
Joshua is the album that follows Olympic. While the second album typically often shows what critics call "maturity," here Simon instead released an album of adolescence. The musician opened his own box of memories to contemplate his childhood memories, and dust them off from all nostalgia. At the time, he recorded TV movies on VHS and recorded the soundtracks directly from the television speaker, so he could listen to them in his room. That's where he "discovered the power of music, the way it takes you into another world, far from reality. I wanted to pay homage to the era in which I was formed - the 80s and 90s." Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk and Soft Machine. Logically, these are the sonic signatures that seem to haunt the album. "I use a musical palette that acts like a flashback to my favorite teenage movies: the synth sounds of Close Encounters of the Third Kind; the synth pads of Jean-Jacques Cousteau's fascinating documentaries on the marine world; melodies in the style of François De Roubaix; themes that evoke the soundtracks of late-night TV sessions (those of Verneuil, those of Belmondo, Depardieu, etc.); and science-fiction atmospheres like in Blade Runner."Buy Joshua at the best price
