Wewantsounds is pleased to continue its reissue program dedicated to Algerian music with the release of Freh Khodja's much sought-after album, Ken Andi Habib, recorded in 1975 in Paris with the group Les Flammes, a band largely composed of musicians from the African diaspora, particularly from Cape Verde. With Les Flammes and the group El Salem for backing vocals, Khodja recorded Ken Andi Habib in 1975, in a Parisian studio. The album blends North African melodies, jazz, funk, Latin/Caribbean influences, as well as elements of Cape Verdean coladeira, reflecting the diversity of the French capital's musical environment at the time. This is the first reissue of the album, selected by Cheb Gero, who was also responsible for the Sweet Rebels Raï compilation and the reissue of the Abranis album for Wewantsounds. Wewantsounds is delighted to reintroduce Ken Andi Habib to lovers of Arab music and global grooves, shedding light on an important chapter in the history of Algerian music in exile. The reissue includes the original artwork, remastered audio by Colorsound Studio, and a two-page booklet signed by Algerian journalist Rabah Mezouane.
