At Last

FREEDOM was comprised of guitarist Ray ROYER and drummer Bobby HARRISON, both members of PROCOL HARUM at the time of their first hit single "A Whiter Shade Of Pale" (1967), but who were fired almost immediately after, when singer Gary BROOKER decided to replace them with his old friends from the band THE PARAMOUNTS (Robin TROWER & Barry WILSON). FREEDOM's original sound is reminiscent of PROCOL HARUM's, due to their predominant use of organ and piano, as well as heavy rock guitar. This band captures the British psychedelic era, as it began to move towards progressive rock. "At Last" was recorded in 1970.
