Le Sacre du Tympan has been my orchestra and my instrument of expression for 25 years. With this flexible ensemble that has released about ten albums and performed numerous concerts in France and abroad, I express myself as a composer but also as an arranger. In 2008, we created a program at the Jazz à la Villette festival, with five musicians, focusing on electronic music and synthesizers in the music of De Roubaix, a pioneer of the home studio and synthesizers. In 2015, we recorded this program. For the 50th anniversary of the composer in 2025, I would like to expand the program to include orchestral music, which is also very present in his work, allowing us to highlight the timeless aspect of his music while confronting it with the works of a few other composers, to demonstrate the influence he has had, including on legends such as Morricone, Michel Legrand, or John Barry. Revisiting the compositions of François de Roubaix will showcase the richness of the themes, harmonies, and timbres that emanate from his works, which have transcended decades, highlighting their intergenerational appeal to all audiences.
