In 2019, Alexandre Kantorow became the first French pianist to win the gold medal at the Tchaikovsky Competition, as well as the Grand Prix, which had only been awarded three times before in the history of the competition. Acclaimed by critics as "the reincarnation of Liszt" (Fanfare), he became, four years later, in September 2023, the first French and youngest winner of the Gilmore Artist Award, considered one of the most prestigious and important music awards in the United States and internationally, awarded only once every four years. He performs in the largest concert halls such as the Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam in its Master Pianists series, the Konzerthaus in Vienna, the Philharmonie de Paris, the Bozar in Brussels, the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Wigmore Hall in London, the City Opera in Tokyo… and at the most prestigious festivals including La Roque d’Anthéron, the Ravinia Festival, the Verbier Festival, and the Klavier-Festival Ruhr.
