"Piano Ombre", successor to "E Volo Love", is the first album by Frànçois & The Atlas Mountains recorded in a real studio, near Bordeaux, with the contribution of a producer (Ash Workman, sound engineer for Metronomy). First French signing on the Domino label (Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, The Kills,...) Frànçois& The Atlas Mountains is the project led by Frànçois Marry, surrounded by his musicians and friends Amaury Ranger and Pierre Loustaunau (aka Petit Fantôme), Jean Thevenin on drums, and Scottish Gerard Black on keyboards. The album traces a new journey made of personal trials, discoveries, convictions, and resolutions. "Piano Ombre" is a formidable and imposing collection of songs that revives the group's DNA, composed of multiple influences, from afro-pop to French chanson or English guitar pop, like a sonic atlas made of splendid pop melodies, lively rhythms, and lush ballads. It also captures the wild energy the group unleashes on stage. The result is the most subtle and rich album by Frànçois & The Atlas Mountains to date.
