Franc Moody breaks the mold with a bold album, blending grunge influences and mesmerizing synths. Chewing The Fat marks the beginning of a new era for Franc Moody. It is a deep dive into the duo’s creative depths, a breaking of the rules, and a reinvention of the Franc Moody sound that shows a more mature side than before. Partly recorded at 64 Sounds Studio in Los Angeles and at Damon Albarn’s Studio 13 in west London, the album’s sound is heavily influenced by Albarn’s synthesizer collection (especially on certain tracks of the album), as well as concerts by Massive Attack and LCD Soundsystem, making it perhaps a little less disco, but with a sense of grunge, aggression, and attitude.
