FINK, long-established alt-folk trio, returns with the eighth studio album from Fin Greenall. Centered around the emerging urgency in each of the album's ten tracks and intimate closed-door sessions in picturesque Cornwall. Now residing in Berlin, the man from Cornwall Greenall, former collaborator of John Legend, Amy Winehouse, Colin Stetson, and many others, sought for his agenda the solitude and back-to-the-land atmosphere of the small village of Zennor, on the picturesque Atlantic coast of the county: organic and free recording sessions. The band was invited to record in the newly built studio of producer Sam Okell and was the first group to create there. Okell is the Grammy Award-winning sound engineer and mixer for Get Back by the Beatles.
Imagining that these conditions could give birth to a classic English folk album and lo-fi, the shared creative restlessness of the band and Okell instead pushed "Beauty in Your Wake" into the expansive realms of FINK's commercially and critically successful albums from the 2000s and 2010s, and it is a triumphant return to self.
