Fictions

Description

With "Fictions," the artist from Saint-Étienne moves away from the gimmicks of trap and autotune to explore a style that is sometimes UK garage, sometimes left bank French chanson, with an omnipresent piano that becomes the vein of his music. This sets the stage for these eight new tracks in which Fils Cara presents himself with a modesty that never excludes a certain sophistication. The entire EP has been re-recorded in an acoustic and understated version with piano and some strings, and the order of the tracks has been reversed. Like a negative of the original record. From his lyrics, sublimated by contrast against a stripped-down music, Fictions (Acoustic Version) is the album to further grasp the infinite colors of Fils Cara's writing and his unique ability to capture our times.
