Following the breakout success of their critically acclaimed 2021 sophomore album, *Contender*, the question for rising London quartet Fightmilk was always going to be “what’s next?” With a tight indie-pop sound that defined their earlier recordings, the answer was obvious for a band who seem determined to evolve or die… The band originally formed in 2015 in a Brixton pub garden by Lily and Alex, both of whom had, separately, just been dumped and thought being in an angry punk band would cheer them up. Then they found Nick and Healey to hold down the rhythm and make the whole thing sound good. With three albums now under their belts, they have honed their chaotic and melodic style of joyful, rage-filled pop with full-throated shouts and fizzy guitar riffs as their trademark.
