Fernandel is one of the greatest comic actors of the 20th century. He is known worldwide primarily for embodying one of the European icons of the post-war era: Don Camillo. An intrepid Italian priest from a small village in the Po Valley, who dialogues daily with Christ and maintains a relationship that is both conflictual and friendly with the communist mayor, representing the opposing political camp. Jean-Baptiste Mersiol brings together here the sound adaptations of the first two films, directed by the great filmmaker Julien Duvivier.
