Description

Titok produced by Manfred Eicher, features the trio with Hungarian guitarist Ferenc Snétberger, Swedish double bassist Anders Jormin, and American drummer Joey Baron. Recorded in Oslo, at Rainbow Studio, in May 2015, it is a warm and intense album, particularly highlighting a sense of intensely melodic improvisation and great interaction between the three members of the group, gently drawing the listener into its sound world. The relationship between Snétberger and Jormin is extraordinary in the first measures of the record, the guitar and double bass uniting to explore the slightest corners of Ferenc's compositions. Throughout, Joey Baron's drums and cymbals bring a subtly textured play to the whole with a great sense of restraint.
