The return of Femmouzes T.
This new album by the duo Femmouzes T. led by Françoise and Rita - icons of music in Toulouse - the first since 2005, will be released just a few weeks after the passing of Françoise Chapuis, one of the two founding musicians of the group. Femmouzes for Fameuses or Famous trobairitz (the feminine of troubadour in the Occitan language), also for Women. T for Toulouse, the city of all music, Occitan, Latin, world, jazz, opera, song, also the mother of all words in a long tradition of verbal jousts since the medieval times of the Jeux floraux, up to the Toulouse chatter or rap battles.
In 1990, Françoise Chapuis and Rita Macedo met around Claude Sicre and his Fabulous Trobadors. Since then, they have formed this duo, the female counterpart of the Fabulous Trobadors with whom they have often sung.
However, while Françoise Chapuis managed to record the album, she will not see either this first title or the complete record, passing away on January 31, 2023, following "a long illness." Recorded and finalized some time ago, this album "Résistantes," in the plural, is a name that perfectly summarizes the beautiful career that these two artists, Françoise and Rita, have led against the grain of the music industry for nearly 30 years.
