Mendelssohn : Songs Without Words

Description

With this complete recording of Mendelssohn’s Songs Without Words, French pianist Bertrand Chamayou explores a paradoxical monument: a famous work, yet one from which only a handful of pieces are heard in concert. Approached by the musician as the intimate diary of a life, this set of 48 pieces unfolds a world of infinite delicacy. The absence of text compels the piano to sing like a human voice. Bertrand Chamayou infuses it with a luminous nostalgia, turning the listening experience into a poetic stroll through an old family photo album. A musical journey to discover in this double album.
