Intégrale des Concertos Sonates Opus 1 à 12

Description

We can once again thank the label Brilliant Classics for this fine initiative of bringing together for the first time the complete opus 1 to 12 of Antonio Vivaldi. Widely regarded as one of the most important composers of the Baroque period and recognized by his contemporaries as one of the greatest violin virtuosos, he is the author of a considerable body of work. Published during his lifetime, the scores recorded here are among his most remarkable and most popular, like the “Four Seasons” or “L’Estro Armonico,” which have over time become staples of the classical repertoire. Across the 20 discs that make up this box set, the Italian ensemble specializing in early music, “L’Arte dell’Arco,” led by violinist Federico Guglielmo, also featured here as soloist, pays a vibrant tribute to the Venetian master. Their understanding of the composer’s musical language is strikingly assured: rich and generous instrumental textures and expressive solo violin lines. Produced under the supervision of the Giorgio Cini Foundation in Venice, these new recordings, served by a refreshing and spirited performance, are essential for any music lover devoted to Vivaldi.
