Il Cimento Dell'armonia E Dell'inventione Opus 8

Description

The last publication, a supreme achievement, from Opus 1 to 12 of Vivaldi is Opus 8, the 12 violin concertos whose numbers are numbered from 1 to 8 and are “The Four Seasons.” Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” of course belong among the masterpieces of classical music, the most iconic, popular and well-known works, with the melody of “Spring” being a classic “earworm” if ever there was one! The performance by Federico Guglielmo and his Arte dell'Arco changes and frees the “Four Seasons” from centuries of misinterpretation, strips away the romantic varnish and insipid embellishments, returning to the roots of the music and revealing the essential power and originality of the work. “Guglielmo understands Vivaldi’s secret language” (Diapason). The Ensemble plays on original period instruments and uses only one instrumentalist per part.
