Description

None of the main collaborators of Scattersun were able to meet in person. When Fax Gang and Parannoul began working on the album in 2023, they encouraged each other to throw caution to the wind regarding genre and sound palette, ultimately weaving together intense strands of blown-out electronica that draw on a whole range of stylistic threads, from two-step rhythms to bursts of breakcore, cloud rap passages, and pop serenity. Discordant turns leading to soaring emotional climaxes form the animating logic behind Scattersun. The album's opening track, "Quiet," lulls listeners into a false sense of security before the breakdown tells them to disregard their expectations as it dismantles itself before exploding into a climax that the artists describe as a spiritual bomb. Such crescendos and twists are everywhere in Scattersun, defining characteristics that, in their scattered unpredictability, always culminate in an enchanting and playful imitation of human nature.
