Fauve describes itself as an open collective - what they call the "corp" among themselves - working across various mediums (music, videos, photos, texts, visuals, web, etc.) and whose work highlights a particular message: the rejection of the harshness of contemporary human relationships, the refusal of defeatism, the right to vulnerability, the omnipotence of words, and the relentless search for true love (whatever form it may take). Fauve's founding members are all long-time friends. They initially came together through music and the need to express themselves as a group. This is where their French spoken word, laid over instrumentals ranging from hip-hop to pop, comes from; it also explains the transparent, unlyrical, and unvarnished content of their lyrics, from beginning to end. But with hope. Today, the members of Fauve want to continue to formalize their sorrows and joys, their fears and ideals, until their respective lives are better. Always with a collective mindset. Because you can never have too many people for these kinds of things. The members of Fauve are united by a shared conception of life and people. Fauve rejects twisted human relationships, undoes defeatism, hates hatred, and is ashamed of shame. Fauve steadfastly adheres to the belief that love can win in this strange world. Fauve is desperately optimistic. Fauve started in 2010, by writing songs stemming from a common and urgent need to express overwhelming feelings with as few constraints as possible. The project now has 5 permanent members. Fauve has not yet reached adulthood: other contributors continue to contribute to the project, episodically but just as loyally (photography, texts, illustrations, etc.). These are also considered an integral part of the Corp, even if nothing is formalized. Fauve is an open door day and night, a shoulder and an ear. Fauve is for whoever wants to join. And what if tomorrow there are many of us?
