As musically and culturally influential as it was, Fania Records propagated the sound of salsa, R&B, and Afro-Cuban jazz from New York clubs to the rest of the world. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the release of this landmark in Latin music — and a foundational album of the salsa boom — Craft Latino is reissuing 'Live at the Cheetah, Vol.2' as a 180-gram audiophile vinyl edition.
Recorded in New York on August 26, 1971, the second volume of "Live at the Cheetah" brings together the virtuoso talents of the Fania All-Stars during a historic performance featuring a stellar orchestra including, among others, Johnny Pacheco, Ray Barretto, Ismael Miranda, Héctor Lavoe, Bobby Valentín, Richie Ray, Bobby Cruz, and trombonist Willie Colón.
