Sammy Decoster and Fabien Guidollet were left on the branch of the tree where their magnificent debut album La Maison sous les Eaux had placed them in 2016: an acoustic duo with captivating vocal harmonies wandering through the underbrush of a rural France, largely ignored by the contemporary music scene. The sun has set behind the castle, giving way to a night filled with fantastical creatures, while Facteurs Chevaux seem to have reconciled with humanity, to which they grant a certain empathy, when it is willing to make the effort (like them) to look up. Indeed, their new album, Chante-Nuit, is imbued throughout its nine tracks with a thirst for weightlessness, fleeing stagnation, mud, and resentments, to highlight imagination, dance, and ultimately evoke hope.
