Description

After eight years of discographic absence, Ex-Easter Island Head returns with Norther, an album shaped over several years in their studio in Liverpool. Between acoustic and electronic textures, the band explores shifting soundscapes, inspired by natural elements.
True to their experimental approach, the quartet blends deconstructed rock, minimalism, and hypnotic atmospheres, evoking both Rhys Chatham and The Necks. Each track stems from a unique process: Weather makes motors dance on guitar strings, Magnetic Language amplifies voices through magnetic microphones, while the eponymous track captures the wind through a wind harp installed on an old observatory.
In parallel, the band has multiplied collaborations and educational projects, enriching their musical palette. With the arrival of Andrew PM Hunt (Dialect) as a permanent member, Ex-Easter Island Head delivers a more immersive and accomplished album here, where the purity of sound combines with a deeply organic approach.
