Everything is Recorded is the project of Richard Russell, best known as the founder of the prestigious English label XL, but also as the producer of the latest albums by Ibeyi, Damon Albarn, Gil Scott-Heron and Bobby Womack. This collaborative project brings together artists from multiple backgrounds and musical genres: from the neo-soul/R&B scene such as Sampha, Syd (The Internet) to Ibeyi (on a magnificent cover of Gil Scott-Heron, Cane), and including rap with Wiki or Giggs. The album also features a new generation of artists: the brilliant Infinite and Obongjayar. All accompanied by renowned musicians: Damon Albarn, Peter Gabriel and Kamasi Washington. Richard Russell recorded his album in his own studio, located in West London, 'The Copper House', a creative space for singers and musicians to write, record, share ideas, mix albums and have uninhibited jam sessions. This is how this album was conceived, which is difficult to label by genre; perhaps it simply writes a new page, just as Kanye West's Yeezus did.
