Evans The Death

Description

Named after the gravedigger from Dylan Thomas’s novel Under Milk Wood, Evans The Death is made up of Dan Moss (guitar, vocals), Katherine Whitaker (vocals, keyboards), Olly Moss (guitar), Rob Mitson (drums) and Ian McCardle (bass). The band moves with the lyrical density of Morrissey, Lawrence Felt, Edwyn Collins and Jarvis Cocker, but also shares the melodic exuberance of My Bloody Valentine, Pavement, The Pixies and The Fall from the “I Am Kurious Oranj” era. The band effortlessly combines a “clever little know-it-all” kind of musical erudition with unwavering self-confidence, ensuring a perfectly mastered pop balance. After their first single, the urgent and poignant Cold War-era paranoid love song “Threads”, and the hard but courageously fragile second single “I’m So Unclean”, comes the self-titled debut album Evans The Death.
