Evans The Death

Description

Named after the gravedigger in Dylan Thomas's novel "Under Milk Wood," Evans The Death consists of Dan Moss (guitar, vocals), Katherine Whitaker (vocals, keyboards), Olly Moss (guitar), Rob Mitson (drums), and Ian McCardle (bass). The band operates with the lyrical density of Morrissey, Lawrence Felt, Edwyn Collins, and Jarvis Cocker, but also possesses the melodic exuberance of My Bloody Valentine, Pavement, The Pixies, and The Fall from the "I Am Kurious Oranj" era. The band effortlessly combines a "smart aleck" type of musical erudition with unshakeable self-confidence, ensuring a perfectly mastered pop balance. Following their debut single, the urgent and poignant Cold War-era paranoid love song "Threads," and the harsh but bravely fragile second single "I'm So Unclean," comes their eponymous debut album "Evans The Death."
