Avec ce nouvel album "I Rise", produit par Clive Hunt (Byron Lee & The Dragonaires, Chaka Khan, Stevie Wonder, Peter Tosh, Rolling Stones, The Wailers, Grace Jones, Jimmy Cliff), ETANA confirms her talent and her unique voice as a New Roots singer! Etana made her debut with the girl group GIFT signed to Universal, before being hired as a backing vocalist by Richie Spice for his world tour in 2005. Captivated by her talent, Richie Spice and Chuck Fender encouraged her to start a solo career. She quickly won over the Jamaican audience and reached the top of the charts. After this success, the label VP Records became interested in her and had her record an album that was released in 2008 under the name of "The Strong One". Once again, this album broke all records, notably with "Blessing" in duet with Alborosie. It received the title of "best album of the year 2008" at the "International Reggae and World Music Awards". In 2009, Etana went on a world tour and participated in the biggest Reggae events like Sumfest and Irie Jamboree. Always inspired by the daily life of the Jamaican people, she pays tribute to her hometown in her latest single "August Town". An extraordinary voice, combined with popular lyrics laid over high-quality riddims, is the recipe for Etana's success, which should continue to dominate the charts for some time.
