ERLAND AND THE CARNIVAL is the reunion of ERLAND COOPER, SIMON TONG (THE VERVE, THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE QUEEN) and DAVID NOCK (drummer for PAUL McCARTNEY). Distilling a blend of folk and psychedelic rock, the three friends who recorded this album at Studio 13, owned by DAMON ALBARN, define their music as the meeting of ENNIO MORRICONE, LOVE, 13th FLOOR ELEVATOR, PENTANGLE and JOE MEEK. Quite a program for these Britons who proudly display their literary culture and folk heritage by drawing from traditional tunes as well as the lyrics of artists such as LEONARD COHEN to create resolutely modern and enchanting tracks. This second album marks a progression for this group that takes a more pop and electronic turn; while continuing their core mission: Reinventing British folk and bringing it up to date.
