Who has seen him on stage knows that Eric Schaefer is so much more than a drummer who simply accompanies! He carves a unique furrow behind his drums, takes risks, brings unheard colors to the music. A talented composer, who breaks free from stylistic barriers, a journalist once called him "the central star of the German jazz scene." Passionate about his travels in Japan, he settled there for three months to study philosophy and religion. The Land of the Rising Sun was also for the musician a magnificent land of exploration and inspiration. It was during his stay that he composed new tracks and decided to return to Berlin to record a new album without delay.
