Nocturnal Rainforest brings together, for the first time, Masami Akita (Merzbow), Brazilian drummer Iggor Cavalera, and Italian guitarist Eraldo Bernocchi. The album offers a dense and immersive soundscape, combining textures, atmospheres, and sensory overload, where noise becomes a tool for concentration. Listening requires attention and presence rather than passivity. Each of the three artists brings their experience in extreme and experimental music. Akita, a major figure in noise, Cavalera, an explorer of the underground since Sepultura, and Bernocchi, a pioneer of illbient and collaborator with numerous international artists, unite their visions to create a sound at the crossroads of natural and digital. Tracks like Swietnenia Macrophylla and Ceiba Pentandra blend organic and electronic sounds, distortions and drones, evoking the density of a sonic jungle. The album plays on the contrast between apparent calm and chaotic textures, immersing the listener in a universe that is both fascinating and disorienting.
