L'Ensemble Amarillis, in this reissue of their 2006 album dedicated to Telemann, performs a program of sonatas for duo and trio by the composer. He, with an encyclopedic spirit - as was customary in the 18th century, found time to become passionate about plants and to practice both the flute and the violin or the harpsichord. A fine connoisseur of the possibilities of each of these instruments, he composed these delightful scores where the happiest combinations of timbres unfold, and whose energy recalls dance. A musician with insatiable curiosity, Telemann was above all a traveler, inspired by European influences, where knowledge joyfully coexists with the arts.
