Steps of a journey beyond spatio-temporal markers, the six tracks of UZHUR's self-titled debut album evoke as many post-apocalyptic visions as there are brains to imagine them, a black hole where Emptyset, Godflesh, Ben Frost, Khanate, and Whitehouse would be mixed with a particular grace, a poetry that will take the time to surf the extreme and in turn evoke moments of cinema. In a flow of total improvisation, everything that emanates from the sessions recorded by this mysterious duo of sound engineers and musicians (recently heard behind the production of Oiseaux-Tempête) nourishes an eminently organic material, which makes the machines speak and touches a little closer to what makes us human. So, between the strange mantras on vocoder, the interferences, the thread of atmospheres and textures that intertwine and surprise, we let ourselves go to their film, and to a certain idea of disaster that extends its shockwave into the interstices of the spaces we inhabit. Featuring Mondkopf & Arnaud Rhuth (Le Réveil des Tropiques).
