Following the announcement of the reissue of Lush's albums, the band's co-founder, Emma Anderson, unveils her first solo album, "Pearlies", which will be released on October 20, 2023 via Sonic Cathedral. This album represents the meeting of vibrant electronic pop with psychedelic and folk influences, with lyrics addressing themes such as confronting one's fears and accepting independence. The project matured despite a prolonged creation, initially motivated by Emma's disillusionment after Lush's sudden dissolution in 2016. She collaborated with artists such as Audrey Riley and Robin Guthrie, and was encouraged to sing her own songs. Despite a temporary halt due to the Covid pandemic, the album quickly took shape thanks to meeting producer James Chapman. "Pearlies" offers a musical variety ranging from funky electronic pop to folk and psychedelic sounds. It concludes on a positive note with "Clusters". This album marks the beginning of Emma's long-awaited solo journey.
