EMERSON LAKE AND POWELL

Description

Vinyl replica under a cardboard sleeve of the album by this supergroup, released in 1986. Pressed on 180-gram black vinyl. Remastered by the renowned sound engineer Tony Dixon. Selected with the agreement of the families of Emerson, Lake, and Powell. The musical visionaries Keith Emerson and Greg Lake had planned to reform ELP in 1984; however, drummer Carl Palmer was unavailable. It was then that the legendary Cozy Powell stepped in. The group's self-titled album features a musical style familiar to that of ELP, with long progressive rock pieces, melancholic ballads, and a classical theme ("Mars, the Bringer of War" by Gustav Holst, a work previously performed by Lake when he was a member of King Crimson). "This compilation pays a vibrant tribute to the power and creativity of three extremely talented musicians and their sadly brief collaboration. Enjoy their music. It is unlikely that we will ever see artists of their caliber again."
