Emeralds, the krautrock trio with an expansive sound, had released a profusion of cassettes, CDs, and vinyl distributed at concerts in basements, then in online music communities, creating a unique whisper genre, even at the height of DIY blogs. The band released Does It Look Like I'm Here? in 2010. Artistically, the album is a fundamental statement, meaning it was crafted by heads for heads, a deeply worked piece, but the general public also embraced it. This success is the result of the power of the tracks and the wonderfully designed structures. The band covers the stereo spectrum of shimmering arpeggios, dynamic dusty waves, and undulating FM textures.
